The Signature United Airlines Stroopwafel is Back!

by Krish Patel

United Airlines has recently announced something very exciting!

The Chicago-based carrier will be bringing back its signature inflight snack, the stroopwafel. It will be making its way into the Economy Class cabin on domestic United flights over 300 miles long. This iconic Dutch snack consists of two waffle cookies, pressed between which is a layer of sweet caramel.

United stopped offering the snack in 2018 and brought it back a year later. Ever since the pandemic, it has been offered inconsistently and often not seen on many domestic flights, even before Covid. However, United has seemed to understand the fact that the stroopwafel is a fan favorite and many people missed it. Some flyers would eat the sweet treat by placing it over a cup of coffee to heat it up and then enjoy the soft, chewy texture.

Besides the stroopwafel, passengers will also be able to have two other snacks on domestic United flights. These include the dark chocolate and sea salt quinoa crisp and savory snack mix. The best part is that UAL has zero plans to take out the stroopwafel, so you can expect to see it on your next domestic United flight.
