The United Club Infinite Card has a Limited-Time Welcome Bonus of 90,000 Miles
by Krish Patel
An easy way to gather points and miles to redeem for a trip is through credit card sign-up bonuses. United Airlines and Chase have partnered to offer welcome bonuses across their co-branded credit cards, the highest of which is the United Club Infinite Card ($525 annual fee). The welcome bonus for this card ends on August 7, 2024.
United Club Infinite Card Welcome Bonus and Earning Rate
If you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first three months of your account opening, you can earn 90,000 bonus miles. The card comes with an earning rate of four miles per dollar spent on United purchases and two miles per dollar spent on dining and other travel. You can earn one mile per dollar spent on anything that isn’t dining or travel. It’s worth considering that this is a card issued from Chase, so it's subject to the issuer’s 5/24 rule, which means that you will probably not receive this card if you have opened five or more credit card accounts in the past 24 months across all card issuers.
United Club Infinite Card Benefits
The United Club Infinite Card comes with several benefits, some of which are listed below.
The card’s main benefit is a complimentary United Club membership, which can cost over $600 if you don’t have the card or a certain level of Premier elite status. In addition to the main cardholder, two adult guests or one adult guest and children under 21 can access the club. Besides United Clubs, the card grants access to certain Star Alliance lounges when flying on United or a Star Alliance partner. The benefit of free United Club access alone might make this card worth the annual fee if you are a United loyalist.
The United Club Infinite Card will also refund your application fee for TSA PreCheck/Global Entry once every four years if you don’t have either.
The cardholder is eligible for complimentary IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite Status with IHG Hotels and Resorts. Some of the benefits of Platinum status are extended checkouts, free room upgrades, and bonus points on stays. Per calendar year, you’ll otherwise need 40,000 qualifying nights or 60,000 qualifying points to earn Platinum elite status. You’ll automatically receive Premier Access and two free checked bags (for the cardholder and one guest on the same travel reservation paid for with the card). Premier Access includes priority check/in and boarding, dedicated security lanes if available, and priority baggage handling.
Redeeming Miles on the United Club Infinite Card
United no longer publishes an award chart, meaning that award redemption rates are unpredictable. However, it’s possible to book flights on Star Alliance partner airlines using United miles or take advantage of the Excursionist Perk. This perk allows you to add a one-way flight to a round-trip award ticket without having to spend extra miles.
United doesn’t impose fuel surcharges on award tickets, which can save you hundreds of dollars on award redemptions, such as Lufthansa First Class or Singapore Airlines Business Class.
Conclusion
Overall, the United Club Infinite Card has a valuable sign-up bonus that can get you closer to a vacation getaway. There are several ways to earn United miles with the credit card by spending on purchases and transferring points. Free United Club access and a solid earning rate are good reasons to consider getting this card in addition to the hefty welcome bonus if you’re a United loyalist planning a trip.
