Three of the best airlines in the world are Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar, also known as the big three middle eastern carriers. Over the past few years, I flew on each airline in their best Business Class cabins to name which airline deserves the title, “BEST Middle Eastern Airline”. We’ll compare the ground experience, cabin and seat, food, in-flight entertainment, amenities, and the service to name a winner.  

If there’s one amenity that Alaska Airlines is known for offering, it’s without a doubt their lounges. Alaska’s lounges found on the west coast of the U.S. offer a cozy ambiance with comfortable seating and fresh food. One of Alaska’s major hubs is at Anchorage Ted Stevens International Airport, where the Seattle-based carrier has its own lounge. With offerings that make the airport experience more smooth, this is a lounge that you might want to enjoy before taking off.

Delta Air Lines is making some changes to its international network. The Atlanta-based carrier has recently filed plans to exit two important international routes:

• Atlanta to Stuttgart, Germany

• New York to Bogota, Colombia

Earning loyalty Points are the sole objective you should focus on towards achieving elite status with American Airlines. Having elite status includes certain benefits depending on which tier of status you have with the airline. 

Within the Riviera Maya area of Cancun is an all-inclusive property that provides a taste of luxury to its guests. Let me introduce you to the Grand Velas Riviera Maya! It’s a stunning resort that sits along the fronts of a beach and offers plenty in terms of amenities and dining, as well as spacious suites. After spending a couple nights, this may very well be one of the most beautiful beach resorts I’ve stayed at.   

When you think of spending seven hours on an aircraft, the 737 MAX isn’t the first aircraft that comes to mind. However, it is capable of flying long distances compared to many other narrowbody jets. One of United’s longest domestic flights is a seasonal route from Newark Liberty International Airport to Anchorage Ted Stevens International Airport, clocking in at around seven and a half hours. Despite the flight’s long length, the offerings on this route are similar to those that can be found on a three to four hour domestic flight.

A new deal offered by several carriers is now offering the opportunity to fly to Costa Rica and enjoy the incredible beaches and nature offered by the country for less than $300 round-trip at a big discount for Economy fares. In late June, we spent a week exploring the beautiful state of Alaska and saw some incredible natural sites. Chase has a collection of modern and stunning airport lounges, one of which is situated within New York’s JFK. Located in Terminal Four post security on the mezzanine level, the Sapphire Lounge is open from 5 AM to 11 PM and features plenty of comfortable seating, individually plated food items at the buffet, a flagship bar, and beautiful artwork from the J.P. Morgan artwork collection. The Sapphire Lounge at JFK is one that is worth going out of your way for.

If you travel a lot and are loyal to a certain airline, having elite status can change your travel experience and give you certain benefits. The perks of having Premier status with United don’t come free, and require a certain number of points. It’s important to consider the benefits and drawbacks of having Premier status with United versus having elite status with another airline.

When people think of the Airbus A380, Etihad isn’t usually the first airline that comes to mind. However, Etihad’s A380s are some of the most luxurious aircraft, featuring a spacious Business Class Studios cabin, First Class Apartments with an armchair that is separate from the bed, and the three room Etihad Residence, with a private bedroom and shower. Etihad favors luxury over fun in Business Class, with premium amenities and seats with more than sufficient storage and legroom. I was excited when Etihad announced it would begin flying the A380s to New York after reintroducing the aircraft on flights to London Heathrow, so I booked a seat in their Business Studios cabin when returning from Ahmedabad, India, via Abu Dhabi.

American Airlines will soon launch flights to Charlotte on their flagship Boeing 777-300ER.

United Airlines has announced news that will mark the end of an era. The Chicago O’Hare-based carrier will discontinue the Hemispheres magazine starting this Autumn. Hemispheres has greeted passengers in the seat back pocket since 1992, when it was first launched.

As a Category 8 Hyattt property, the Park Hyatt New York is ranked as one of the best Hyatt hotels in the entire portfolio. With a gorgeous design, friendly service, spacious room accommodations, and a host of luxurious amenities, the hotel experience truly makes for it to be a memorable one. I was more than impressed during my stay and can conclude that this is the best Hyatt property in the U.S. Should this hotel’s luxurious offerings and its premium price be worth it?

Fiji Airways is currently a OneWorld Alliance connect partner and will become a full member of the alliance group sometime in 2025, with no set date. When the airline becomes a full OneWorld member, it will adopt AAdvantage, the loyalty program of American Airlines.
